AN ODD DAY

Yesterday, Sunday

7:30 AM tea. We woke much later than usual. Well, Jake woke much later than usual. He was not even asking to leave his crate at 7:30, but was happy enough when I took him out...

8:30 AM small bow of cereal with fruit and almond milk. No coffee before sangha

9:00 AM sangha--silent sit for an hour, followed by an hour's discussion.

11:30 AM snack. Fruit and yogurt

2:00 PM brunch (very late, because our daughter Sarah called from Iowa and we spent a good long while on FaceTime). Ellie made a leek and tomato frittata with 3 eggs, which we split in half. Also, 2/3 onion bagel with butter. And coffee.

6:30 PM snack. One small pepper with edamame hummus.

7:00 PM dinner. Leftover bolognese pasta from last night (I missed posting the previous day. We went out for dinner to the Lumberyard restaurant. I ordered the pasta and, when it came, halved the portion on the plate and brought half home); a small vegetable plate; and a glass of white wine.

Today is Labor Day. We plan a steak barbecue.
